Auditions for
Westfield Community Players will hold auditions for the comedy “See How They Run” on Sunday, March 3, Monday March 4 and Wednesday March 6, each night at 7 PM.
“See How They Run” is a high-spirited madcap story in the tradition of British comedy and farce. Mistaken identities, past loves and a little drink or two blend into a story full of physical comedy and laughs galore.
Director Bill Seesselberg is looking for actors for the following roles:
Ida – a cockney maid, 18-19 years of age.
Miss Skillon – a strict churchgoer, gossip, spinster
Reverend Toop – local vicar
Penelope Toop – vicar’s wife, retired American actress
Corporal Clive Winton – old actor friend of Penelope
The Intruder – escaped prisoner from an area military base
The Bishop of Lax – Penelope’s uncle
Reverend Arthur Humphrey – a visiting clergyman
Sergeant Towers – local constable arriving in search of the escaped prisoner
All but Penelope will be using British accents.
There will be readings from the script, and auditioners can present their own audition pieces in the style of the show. Auditions will be held at the theater-1000 North Ave. West, Westfield.
Show dates are May 4, 11, 17 and 18 at 8 PM, and May 5 & 12 at 2 PM. An additional benefit performance may be added on May 10. Rehearsals will begin March 18.
