2023-2024 Call for Directors

 

    The Westfield Community Players Board of Directors and the Production Selection Committee are seeking potential Directors for our 2023-2024 season.  Directors are asked to submit a simple list of the titles and authors of plays and/or musicals that they would like to direct. We also request that they submit a current theatre resume.

 

     If the Committee chooses to further consider one or more of a Director’s submissions, we will then ask that they provide us with a copy of the script(s) for each production.  They will then be scheduled for an interview with the Committee.

 

At the time of the interview, they will be asked to :

1. Discuss why they wish to direct that particular play/musical

2. Discuss their vision for each production (i.e. Production     values, concept, casting, budget needs, etc.

3. Discuss why they feel it would be a great addition to the Westfield Community Players.

 

The Play Selection Committee will be accepting submissions from many Directors. We expect some shows will be submitted by more than one Director.  Should that occur, it will be at the sole discretion of the Committee to select the Director for that production.

 

     Directors should list their submissions in order of preference and let us know which of the following time slots best suits your schedule.  The season will generally run as follows:

 

  1. October Slot

  2. January Slot

  3. March Slot

  4. May Slot
